SPX Update #2

Well, we said we would present the good, the bad and the ugly about our rehab project. And we just had a pretty ugly call with the president of the Polish Cadets, the neighboring not-for-profit that controls all of the parking surrounding Ladder 12. In short, the Cadets are not interested in discussing possible parking arrangements that would serve our project (whether by sale or by lease). Some of their members also apparently were unhappy that we planned to offer our conference facility for community use, since that apparently would compete with a service that they feel they already provide to the neighborhood. My attempts to explain why I thought our plans could be a win-win for everyone were not persuasive. We will investigate other parking options, but this certainly will make the SPX a lot less feasible at that location.
