Engine 36

Not every firehouse re-use project has stalled. In fact, right outside our office window, the father and son team of Lou and Edmund Haremski have made considerable progress on their rehab of Engine 36. Today, the roofing crew is braving stiff breezes as it tears off the firehouse's asphalt roof.

Once complete, the firehouse will contain an apartment for Lou and his wife and the shop of Loose Lumber, a furniture company run by Lou and Edmund.
